Sunday Killer Link Love Post #37

Each weekend I’ll be sharing a list of 10 brilliant blog posts from the blogger fellows, blog post topics include blogging tips, affiliate marketing, make money online, traffic building, social media, search engine optimization, brand building and etc.

This weekend is great as I got to know that I’ve won the FIRST PRIZE in MelvinBlog’s Best Blog Marketing contest, all the contestants were required to write a blog marketing blog post on their blogs, all the blog posts were evaluated by a few hidden judges by using 30% popularity and 70% quality. I’m really surprised that the blog post entry “3 Effective Blog Marketing Strategies That I Use” that I wrote a couple weeks ago got the highest point from the judges and won the first prize! I would like to thank all the blogger fellows who support me by tweeting and leaving a comment on the blog post. Thanks Melvin who held the contest as well!

Top 10 Sunday Killer Link Love Posts

1) 5 Ways to Skyrocket Your Blog Traffic – Blogussion
One of the major problems many people face is getting traffic to a blog, and the truth in the online world is that traffic is very essential to any online business you do; it is traffic that brings about people that buy.

2) 4 Amazing Tips for Overcoming a Writer’s Block – DailyBlogTips
When you write for living, whether you do it for your blog or you are an author, it is crucial for your success to be persistent about writing. Especially if you are your own boss, no one is going to come and force you to start writing or whatever it is you should do today, so it is sometimes really hard to start.

3) 10 Ways To End Your Website Shame – HowToMakeMyBlog
Confession time – do you have Website Shame? You know it when you have it – the hastily crossed out URL on your business card, the missing “website” field in your social networking profiles, the horror of someone you respect accidentally discovering your “still in progress” site, the botched attempts at “fixing” things that left you worse off than before.

4) VIP Access : The VIPerchill Business Plan – ViperChill
It’s never a good sign when a blogger disappears for weeks, “neglecting” their readers and doesn’t take the time to give a reason why. It’s also very common for bloggers who apologise for their infrequent posting to quickly find themselves at a stage where their blog does not get updated at all. I’ll be the exception to that rule and apologise for my lack of updates over the last few weeks – stating that I’m genuinely back for good – and with a big announcement to make: As of the end of this month, I’ll be living in Thailand. Bangkok, to be specific. Despite that possibly surprising announcement, this post is not going to be very personal. Let’s talk business.

5) How to Start a Blog in a Crowded Niche – FamousBloggers
You were SUPER gung-ho to start blogging. “Yay, a way to make money!” you said to yourself as you began clicking away at your keyboard. “Connect with new friends!” “Sell my stuff!” “Get the word out!” “Yee-haw!” You thought to yourself, “No other dentist in [insert your town/city here] is going to be blogging like ME. I am so ahead of the curve.” You thought to yourself, “What other wedding cake company in [insert your town/city here] is going to have such a stellar blog? No one!”

6) 6 Unique Ways to Come up with Killer Content Ideas – TechNShare
It used to be called writers block, but I think that Blogger’s Cramp is slightly more fitting. Yes it sounds like something you REALLY should see a doctor about as soon as possible, but it still conveys that horrible sinking feeling you get when you realise you have not had a unique blog thought for over 48 hours… and that’s a long time in blog speak!

7) Should You Have A Consistent Blogging Schedule? – StandOutBlogger
I have thought about this ever since I started blogging, but I never took the steps to put it into action. Do you have a blogging schedule? Should I have one? Let’s take a closer looks at the advantages of planning vs why it is good to be spontaneous.

8 ) The Excel Sublime Charge Model. Igniting Yourself to Build Your Blog Like a Supercar – Blogussion
A new model is brought to your attention on what should be going through your head while building your blog. In short, it’s the ESC model but its similar to how supercars are built in the non-technical aspects. We’re not building blogs that are good enough for tomorrow. We’re building a blog like a supercar and if we aren’t we should be. So how is a supercar built?

9) How Can Different Designs Affect Your Online Business? – BlogGoDown
When you run an online business, you come across different types of designs that work together to make your business a success. However, if you lack in creativity and originality, the same designs will cause extreme damage to your business. These designs are: Logo Design, Web Design, Brochure Design and Banner Design.

10) How To Show Up On Your Blog – WeBlogBetter
I must have read a half-million blogs last weekend. Okay, that’s a slight exaggeration, but since part of my job as a managing editor of The Daily Brainstorm involves researching blogs, I truly do visit a ton of them. Now, that might sound about as peachy as winning the lottery to you, but the truth is, it can be downright dull. Sure, there are a lot of blogs out there with dazzling designs and pretty posts, but so many of them feel like empty vessels. It’s like the lights are on, but nobody’s home.

Personal Ramblings

I just went for hiking yesterday with friends at Broga Hill in Semenyih, our intention was to see the sunrise in the morning, we woke up at 4am and went there at about 5am, we reached the 2nd point of the hill at about 6am. Unfortunately, it was raining and we couldn’t see the sunrise. It was cold and our legs were tired. I’ll need to take a rest to recover my painful and tiring leg. Anyway, we were enjoying the gathering and we’ve had a great time together!

How’s your day? Did you go for hiking before? When was the last time you went for hiking?

No Kok Siong, we just went to the 2nd point, at about 1.7km or 2km. That day was raining, so it was difficult for us to go further. So you’ve gone through all the peaks? We couldn’t see the sunrise as well, too bad. :(
