@Andrew,
Congratulation Andrew! Your effort pays off! My blog remains PR3 for more than a year but I don’t care PR that much for this moment. The good news for me is the search engine ranking is improving, my blog ranks #7 with the keyword “make money online” in Google.com and it’s improving since 2 days ago. Hope it can hits top 5. :)
I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but I wouldn’t use the word dominating to describe position #10 even if it is page 1. You probably still see little (if any) search traffic from that term. I have a few sites that sit on page one but aren’t in top 3 and I still know I’m getting only a few page visits a day. The only thing that matters is #1 – #3.
Also, I looked on Google and I don’t see you on page #1 at all. Are you sure personalized search isn’t affecting your results?
Either way once you do hit the top positions that will be great for you. Have you thought about tailoring your blog to target search traffic different than people that come via other ways?
.-= Chris Guthrie@Make Money on the Internet´s last blog ..Proliferation of Misinformation =-.
@Chris Guthrie,
Hey Chris glad to see you here.
First, I didn’t say that I’m in the first page for the keyword “make money online” in Google.com, I rank #1 in Google.com.my which is in my country. Perhaps the word “dominating” is not right to be used in this situation. Anyway, I’m in the first page for the keyword “make money online” in Google.com right now, it was at the #4 just now but it drops to #10 now.
I agree with you Chris, searches rarely click on the site which is not in the Top 3, so I’m getting only a few page visits a day from there. Do you have any idea on tailoring my blog to target search traffic?
“The only thing that matters is #1 – #3″
Or if you have a really Creative Title and Meta Description that (STANDS OUT), you can still get decent traffic in a lower position. :)
.-= Mathew Day´s last blog ..Wanna get your Competitor’s Backlinks? =-.
@Mathew Day,
You’re right, eye catching title and meta description does really play an important role, it makes your readers whether to click and read or just quit.
I just re read my last comment and it does sound like I’m being a jerk. You should try to verify that you’re not tracking something via personalized search though.

@Chris Guthrie,
No worry Chris, comments are welcome and I’m glad to receive your comment here. I’ll try to verify it Chris, thanks for your opinion. :)
#4 was really helpful. My previous hosting sucks. Luckily I managed to back up based on the reading from that blog. Oh yes… I subcribed to his blog already. That’s why I read his post before seeing it here too….
Anyway…good compilation of posts as usual…

Chris, the personalized search has caught me out lots of times. I now double check everything with market samurai before I get too excited. Thanks for the resource Lee and good luck.
