Alexa is a website which measures the traffic level for every websites and blogs on the internet. Many people are trying to increase their alexa rank, one of their purpose would be getting more direct advertisers. Essentially Alexa only measures visitors that visit your site and with the Alexa Toolbar installed on their browser, if someone without Alexa Toolar on his browser visits your blog, Alexa doesn’t count it as visitor and it doesn’t help your alexa ranking.
There are various ways on the internet which can help you to increase your alexa ranking, but there is no free lunch in this world, you still need to work hard and put effort to boost your alexa ranking. I noticed that both of DoshDosh and ExtremeJohn covered the same tips which was writing review for site. When you search your site in Alexa, you can actually see a “Review” section where you can see people leaves you a review and adds a rating for your site. If you receive a lot of great reviews and 5 star rating, I believe that it does help to increase your alexa ranking.

Why Increase Alexa Ranking?
Obviously, this is a make money online niche blog, I used to share money making opportunities on this blog. At the mean time, I’ll monetize this blog as well. As we know, direct advertisers do take Alexa Rank as their consideration in judging the price and which site they want to advertise their product or services. That’s one of the reason that I want to increase my alexa rank.
Right now my Alexa Ranking is hanging on the 100k+ line, I’m still trying to break the 100k+ line, it’s tough but not impossible. I’ve installed Alexa Toolbar in my browser, so it helps a bit when I visit my blog everyday. Also, I suggest all my sincere readers install Alexa Toolbar on your browser as well, it helps when you visit my blog, it takes you only few seconds to install the toolbar. I used to visit all the commenters’ blog to see who is reading my blog, I’ve installed Alexa Toolbar and this helps in increasing your alexa ranking as well.

As I mentioned in my post above, Advertiser takes this under their consideration in judging prices, if you have a higher Alexa ranking, probably you will get an advertiser with better price.
I’ve seen a number of posts now about improving your alexa ranking.

From my study what I have realized that Alexa love dynamic websites..a website whose content is updated daily will make sure your Alexa will keep increasing and more over search engine traffic (constant) will be very helpful here…. Followed by using Alexa widget and toolbar…

I’m not a fan of toolbars at all,
also I believe Alexa isn’t any use for non-English sites.
I’ve read a few sites with tips to increase the ranking, I installed the Alexa badge once and yes it did work, but the site was still at 400.000
