1) On your Adsense setup, there is a “Channel” right ? Click it, you can check how many Channel you have added. This is only for your checking purpose. Normally i don’t click it unless i want to delete the channel.

2) So, every times you want to get a adsense code, you clicked on “Continue” after you done your settings, then you will jump to this page. So you can add your channel here. Click “Add new channel” and add a name for the single adsense code. Let say you want a name for your top banner adsense ads, so you add “Top banner”, click “add” after done. Look at the photo below, I named it as “adsense” and add it to my selected channels. Remember, every locations of your adsense code you may need to add a new channel for that location.

Mike : Erm, not. Its’ purpose is to keep track on which Adsense unit bring you money. Okay, give you an example :-

You want to create 2 adsense units and put 1 at left sidebar and 1 at right sidebar. So, when you create the 1st adsense unit, you can add a channel (i.e : name it as “Left Sidebar - 120×60″), then you place the adsense code at left sidebar. For the 2nd adsense unit, you do the same, but when add channel, you name it as “Right Sidebar - 120×60″).

So when you check your adsense income report, you can see there is a channel, it will tell you how many clicks you have for “Left Sidebar 120×60″ also how many clicks for “Right Sidebar 120×60″. Of course, other than clicks you can know the CTR and Revenue as well.

So mike, understand what I’ve explained? If not I can explain again. =)
