As we know, every blogs or websites do have RSS feed but many of them don’t what is that. When I first involved in blogosphere, I did not know what is RSS too, I did not know what’s the “subscribe box” for and everything about RSS. Today, I’m going to explain more and less about RSS.
RSS stand for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a “simple flyer” that update you the latest news on the site you subscribe to which mean the “flyer” will send you an notification email and tell you that the site owner has updated his site. You can read his article in email, or enter his site to read the article from the email.
1) You don’t have to bookmark all the favourite site
Normally we use bookmark for our favourite site, it’s really confusing if you have tonnes of bookmarks and don’t know which site has updates article. So subscribe it’s RSS can resolves the problem.
2) Avoid visiting site with slow loading speed
Some blogs that insert excessive graphic ads or images can really slow down the loading speed. It’s what annoying readers. In order to read your favourite article without visiting slow loading speed blog, the only method is RSS because you can read the article in email without visit the blog.
Limit your subscription at about 10. Why? It’s very simple common sense, let’s say you subscribe to up to 30 blogs newsletter, that’s mean you will receive approximate 30 emails a day. It’s really confusing, although all the subscribed blogs are your favourite blogs, but I don’t think you can read all the 30 emails in a day. Agree?
Let say you visit a blog, you like it and want to get its updates article in email. You can find its RSS feed, normally people put it at the top with a word “Subscribe Via Email”. Simply insert your email, and verify the subscription in your email. Done!
You can subscribe my newsletter if you would like to read my updates article too. Simply enter your email address in the box below and click subscribe.
It’s really simple to create a RSS feed. I believe that there is a lot of site out there that provide you RSS services, but currently I use Feedburner.
1) Register your blog in Feedburner.
2) Get an nice icon by Google Images Search.
3) Place it at a place that readers can see it, top side of your blog is ideal.
RSS helps to increase traffic because it provides good services to all the readers. Readers can simply catch up updates articles on their favourite site and read it in email. You don’t have to worry because it won’t spam your email, I called RSS as “Really Sexy Security”. How about you?
