5 Reasons Why You Should Use Hostgator

July 6, 2010 · 27 comments

Web hosting plays an important role in hosting your website or blog, it’s just like the heart of a human, you’ll die if it stops functioning. It goes same to your web hosting, when it shuts down, then your website or blog is likely to be down as well.

I’ve been using Hostgator for more than 6 months and I really like their services and the performances. Before switching to Hostgator, I hosted all my websites and blogs at Exabytes which was a web hosting company in my country. The price was cheap, it cost me about $75 per year while Hostgator cost me about $85 for first year as I signed up with the 20% off coupon code, I signed up 2 years straight so it was about $170.

What made me switching web hosting from Exabytes to Hostgator was the server uptime, it was a nightmare for me during that period. During the first few months I signed up Exabytes, everything was fine and I was happy with their performances. After a few months later, I experienced downtime very frequent, about few times a day. I submitted a support ticket but the problem was not being resolved. A few days later, I decided and switched to Hostgator as I heard a lot of good comments from a lot of bloggers, and some of my blog buddies recommended Hostgator to me as well.

5 Reasons Why You Should Use Hostgator

1) Reliable Web Hosting
That was the most important point that blew up my mind in switching web hosting. I’ve been using Hostgator for more than 6 months; Hostgator didn’t disappoint me until today. It has 99.9% maximum uptime, so far I don’t experience any downtime yet. If you have a blog with huge traffic with high conversion of earning, then your blog must be live 24/7 or you’ll lose money.

2) Efficient Live Support
Whenever you face problem with your web hosting, you might want your problem can be resolved as soon as possible. Hostgator has a 24 hours live support and the team is ready to serve and resolve your problem. Few months ago, I had some problem with my blog and someone told me that I may ask Hostgator for help, I contacted technical team via live support, they were very helpful and resolved my problem in minutes, very efficiency.

3) Friendly User Control Panel
Hostgator control panel is friendly user, it has tutorial showing you how to use and manage as well but I’ve never read them before. It comes with “Fantastico” which set up your website or blog with one click in seconds, and your website or blog is ready to go live.

4) Money Back Guarantee
You don’t have to worry about the performance or their support, Hostgator takes the risk and gives you a 45 days money back guarantee with no questions asked. If you don’t satisfy with their support or performance, shoot them an email and ask for refund, but trust me you’ll satisfy with Hostgator.

5) Reasonable Pricing
Obviously, if you do comparison and you might see the price is slightly higher than other web hosting company, but it worth the price. I’ve not tried any web hosting other than Exabytes and Hostgator, so I can’t comment on others. For me, the price is reasonable with the support and performance I get. If you’re going to make money online from blogging or creating websites, paying a little money per month for a reliable web hosting is definitely not a big deal.

Greatreview of Host Gator Lee!

Yeah, pretty much everyone recommends Host Gator. I have seen very great review of Host Gator on most blogs.

I currently use free hosting provided by a membership site, and I have had no issues with it.

I also used iPage before, and they were also great and cheap. Their service was also excellent.

But you can’t go wrong with Host Gator either.

Kindest,
Nabeel

@Nabeel,
You may consider switching to your own web hosting in coming days, there is always a risk by hosting your sites in free hosting. Anyway, that’s your choice, as long as you have no problem with your current host. :)

Hostgator is indeed a reputable host. Good choice for shared hosting. With Bluehost having outages this month and last month with DDoS attacks on their server, I’m sure most of their customers are already thinking of moving.

I have been using Bluehost to host and install wordpress blogs and using the Simplescripts button. Is there anything like that on Hostigator?

@David,
Hostgator does have something like “Simplescripts button” but it’s called “Fantastico” which you can setup your blog in just 1 click.
