Making money online by participating blog contest doesn’t require any internet marketing strategies and techniques, you just need to own a blog, your blog can be hosted in free blog platform such as blogger.com or wordpress.com, or self hosted in wordpress.org. In fact, I’ve just won a cash prize of $42 from The42ndState, it was the easiest contest which was organized by Adam on 26th March ’09, the participants just have to comment in the post, and qualified in the contest. I’ve just received an email from Adam yesterday morning, he was telling me that I’ve won the contest and he’ll be sending $42 to me via Paypal! Weeks ago, I found a blog in search engine. It’s a blog that announces blog contests which organized by various blog in blogosphere, I’ve bookmarked it and visited it very often to check for new blog contest in blogosphere. The thing I love this blog because they updated very frequent (Almost in daily basis), so that I could have the chances to grab any interested blog contest. There are tonnes of established bloggers in the blogosphere, such as Darren Rowse, JohnChow, Daniel Scocco, DoshDosh and etc. Sometimes they’ll organize blog contest in their blog and giveaway great prizes or cash. So, that’s the advantages if you subscribed their newsletter and you won’t miss out any blog contest.

I was blog hopping today and found another blog contest in CoolSiteOfTheDay too, it’s another simple contest if you have a twitter account. Simply follow the blog owner and tweet the message, you’re qualified in the contest. If you blog about the contest too, you can stand the the chance to win another $100 cash too. The contest is running for 5 weeks, so you could win several prizes every week from the 5 weeks. I’ve missed out the first week, so you should join the contest in his blog now!
4) Participating Forums
If you have joined any forums, try to be active and hang around in the forums, you could actually found some forumers announce their blog contest in the forums. This was happened weeks ago, I’m quite active in Lowyat Forum and a forumer announced a contest in RankingContest, I’ve joined the contest too because they’ve actually giveaway attractive $200+ prizes to the winner. Nice reminder that these contests are out there. Contest can be a nice way to make a little extra cash but what is even better with contests is when you run them yourself. Paying out $42 to get 10, 50, 100 or more blogs linking to your site is a sweet deal. Contest have long been a great way of building links to your sites and if you have a site that needs more links (don’t they all??) then having a contest is a valuable way to go.

Regarding your question, you can actually post your giveaway contest in forums that you’re active in, ask your friends which has similar audiences whether they’re comfortable to help you write a post about it in their blogs, submit to social networking sites, you can insert a link that point to your contest after the comments and just tell them about your contest while commenting on others’ blogs but make sure the comment is relevant and useful.

Can i add?? always have bookmarks with the date of the contest you entered. it will be much easier for you to go back because you have a folder with a date on when the winners will be announced at your bookmarks.. you’re so lucky winning contest..

Yea, I did this way too because some of the contest organizers may want the winner to contact them themselves, if the winner never go back and read the announcement, then they miss out the prize.
This was my first time to win a cash prize in the blog contest.
I recently won a webhosting contest and grabbed one year of web hosting for free..and after winning the first one I’m actually hunting for more options..because I know..it actually works

Yea, we can actually make money online by joining various contest, for people who doesn’t have their own hosting and domain, they can join with their blogspot blog, and win a free web hosting later. Congrats on your free web hosting price too!
I did use Google Alert in the past, but I received quite a lot unrelevant content or updates, so I stopped using it. Anyway, thanks for the idea too.
