Advertising Your Ebook

You’ve finished your ebook. It’s a PDF, it has a cover, it’s been proofed. It’s sitting on your website waiting for someone to buy it…but no one has, what gives?

Newsflash; there are millions and millions of websites out there; no one can find your website, let alone your ebook. Once you realize that, you’ve begun to understand how the internet works. You need traffic to get sales; this is every website’s mission. So how do you do you get traffic?

First thing, get your ebook an ISBN. An ISBN stands for international standard book number. If you’re Canadian a great site is http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/isn/041011-1000-e.html. By having an ISBN number you can advertise your ebook on more websites. With an ISBN, your ebook looks more professional to potential customers. Getting an ISBN number is free in Canada, but it does take a bit of time once you apply.

As soon as you have your ISBN you can advertise your ebook to http://books.google.com/. Google has a book partner program where they allow you to advertise your book on Google for free. This helps create more back links, and Google helps you get traffic from its search engine. If someone searches the word “dog,” and you have an ebook on “dog training”, one of those search results will be the Google ebook.

Another great site to be a part of is https://www.payloadz.com/. This is a great site to use if you don’t want to use an autoresponder. Plus it’s free up the first $100.00. It even gives you the html coding to add to your website or blog. Payloadz also goes nicely with http://www.paypal.com; it won’t release your product till Paypal tells Payloadz the payment has been made.

Or, if you have your own autoresponder, use Payloadz to advertise in their marketplace. This will bring you more back links to your site. Backlinks help prove your sites credibility. The more backlinks you have, means more traffic, and higher page ranking.

Another great site to check out is http://www.lulu.com/. One thing that is great about Lulu is it’ll give you a free ebook cover when you build your profile. Lulu is a site that allows you to sell your ebook online. They take a fee from every ebook sold, but also help market your ebook. And again, the more back links you have, the higher your ranking in the search engines.

The second last way you can advertise your ebook is joining http://www.clickbank.com. Clickbank will take a fee of like $50.00 for you to have your product in their marketplace. Once in the marketplace any of the numerous affiliates signed up to Clickbank can promote your ebook for you. The affiliates on Clickbank get a percentage on every sale they make, and Clickbank makes a small administrative fee, otherwise the rest is yours. What’s great about Clickbank is, it gets you more clickbacks, and more people are out their selling your product. It’s a cheap way to get affiliates working for you.

My last tip for advertising your ebook is article writing. Writing articles is a great way to get traffic to your site, and most article databases have a high page rank. Which means when someone searches your keyword, if your website doesn’t pop up, your article will.

Make sure to write quality articles, and make them unique. You will get penalized for having duplicate content if you use your website content as articles. Remember to include your website link in the resource box on the article. Also keep in mind articles take any where from a week or two to be published online. A great place to start is http://www.ezinearticles.com.

Well I’ve given you lots of tools to start with, good luck. To find out more like how to create an ebook, check out http://www.creative-writing-help.com/create-an-ebook.html.

That’s the hardest thing, to stay on point and be motivated to get it done. If you really want to create an ebook, you’ll make the time to write an ebook.

Good luck and thanks for the comments.

@Tracey,
Writing an ebook could take you tons of time and you need to make sure the content is linked well within the ebook, says you mentioned the program is working in the beginning of your ebook, but you said the program is not working in the end of the ebook, there is conflict on your ebook. So it might get you longer time to write an ebook, it’s hard to start one too.

Thanks for taking some times to drop a comment here Tracey. Hope to see you more in this blog. :)
