I believe logo is one thing but promotion of that logo which is all about marketing is what really matters.

Favicon might be different with your logo unless you put them the same while leaving comment. But both of them are important in branding yourself.
I really love your Logo. Did you made it yourself or you also used LogoMyWay. By the way I have used Logomyway but not for getting a logo but I was trying my hand on designing out there. You are right, brandable logos are very much needed if you want to make your business grow. A good designed brandable logo shows that you are really into your business

Adequately, logo design is just one step to branding your your business online. However, it is an essential step to take. As we all know, picture tells a thousand words. Therefore, graphical logo will surely enable a stronger impact on readers.
I am a creative person by nature. ( truthfully i sucked maths and calculation. and I always have a keen eye on the creative side =P ) I figure the best way to actually is to keep it as simple as you can. Take for instant at some of the more significant brands in the world.
Apple = just an apple with a bit of a bite off.
Facebook = just an F
Twitter = just a T
Mc Donald = just an M
and er… what else is just a letter ,eh ? haha
but you get my point here. Significantly, even in designing logo , it should be simple too. KISS concept = keep it simple stupid
But don’t expect to have an excellent logo and wait to be notice. You will never in even 100 years to come. Go out there and show it ! work on marketing strategies that would enable you to fully expose your logo and your business. Even if your business doesn’t appeal to them, your logo might and one day they may even consider finding out more of it.

Well said Febap. Logo design is just a part of branding, you may make it as simple as you can, as long as it’s clean, neat and easy to remember.
A logo is a very important reflection of your brand and should be consistent across all brand communications. Keep in mind the other aspects that make your brand too. Your blog should reflect the quality of your brand through your posts. If you have high quality posts people will remember that when they see your logo. So, they could see your logo on your Twitter profile, remember your good posts, and want to return to your blog when they see your tweet about a new post.

Yeap, good combination of quality post, brandable logo & theme, honor comments in similar niche blog, etc. If you could excel all of these, you might have built a strong brand in your field.
Using brandable logo is good. Especially if your an amatuer at creating logo yourself. Like the case is with me.I use an avatar as well to brand myself.
