Absolutely! The first factor might be quality content to attract reader, 2nd factor might be backlinks to improve search engine ranking and getting organic traffic indirectly. All of them take times, but when you achieve it, all the time you spent is worth it! :)

Yes Sohail, only organic traffic can makes us money. Other than this, digg and SU can only help you to show your blog or post to the public to let them know that your blog is actually exist. :)

Definitely! Blogger like them doesn’t have to really involve in social site in their current stage, whatever they do, their readers will do or promote for them. But I believe that they did very well and put lots of effort in the begin stage. Appreciate of what they have achieved!
