It is more important to provide content of excellent quality than it is to post frequently. So if you only have one substantial (meaty) financial tip per week, post once per week and do it well.

Talk like an expert:

Have you ever listened to a public speaker that made you feel uncomfortable? Not just uncomfortable, but embarrassed – for them? With each blog post you write, you have one opportunity to draw people in. Your title will be the determining factor in whether the reader clicks “continue reading” or not. While it may be fun to provide witty titles full of analogy or allegory, such titles just don’t let your readers know what the post is about.

Blog post titles should be one-hundred percent clear in outlining the purpose of the post. For example, if you sell home improvement supplies and write posts that help your readers learn how to DIY (do it yourself), a post entitled “The pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow” will garner significantly less hits than one called “Why Using a Rain Barrel can Save You Hundreds.”

3. Extend your reach.

The broader your reach, the bigger your readership grows. The more readers you have, the more influence you have. Influence translates into authority and sales, without fail!

Link Exchanges

Up until around 3 years ago, these worked very well. You link to me and I’ll link to you and we both get an SEO boost from Google, right? Unfortunately, Google decided that this practice was against its terms and conditions which means that at best link exchanges no longer work and at worst you’ll land yourself with a penalty.

Stay away!

Safelists

The idea here is that you get to email other members of a Safelist community and promote your website/blog/squeeze page/product in return for agreeing to receive emails from other members who are promoting their stuff.

Once upon a time this probably was an effective method of traffic generation, however, the problem now is that everyone simply opens their emails and clicks on the link labeled “click here to gain credits” (or something similar). In other words, people just want to get their credits so that they can send out more of their own emails to you! 99.9% of the time they have no interest in actually visiting your site.

Traffic Exchanges

Traffic exchanges are similar to Safelists except that instead of emailing other members you agree to view their websites in return for them viewing yours. In my experience this can generate traffic, but its traffic really not worth having as the visitors simply wish to gain their credits by viewing website after website without paying any attention to the content.

So there you have it 3 totally free traffic strategies that work very effectively (and with rather minimal effort!) and 3 strategies to avoid.

Already, we can see ezinearticles.com making drastic changes to their editing and publishing rules. From increasing the word limit to raising the quality standards. In fact, they were even thinking of changing the do-follow attribute to no-following in author’s bio; much to the dismay of their authors (thankfully they have retreated for the time being). All things considered, article marketing has certainly lost some of its worth. Whilst some low quality directories will continue to do what they were doing, the more serious ones will certainly become stricter about their content quality, even if it means publishing fewer articles.

The websites will be more cautious about the duplicate or spun content, especially in the niches where supply has already exceeded the demand. As far as back links are concerned, there is no clear indication that Google has also devalued the links coming from these websites, but still we can expect some changes in the linking policies of these websites, for example, ezinearticles.com is already encouraging the authors to keep their bio in line with the content of the article.

Panda update hasn’t only scared the article directories or content farm owners, as we can see a little reluctant on part of Bloggers who accept guest posts, especially when it comes to keyword rich anchor text in byline or within the body of articles. There’s no reason for these blogs to panic though, the Panda update was meant for websites that were churning out useless content and adding to the overall spam with an insane speed, it’s true that some quality websites have to put up with the update targeting content farms, but that was probably more of a bad luck. Guest blogging is much more than a tactic to get some back-link and host bloggers are extremely nit-picking when approving a post to go live on their website (unless the Blog is running on some revenue sharing model), even then the editors at these Blogs are seemingly doing a much better job than the editors at article directories (you can’t blame them though, because they have to deal with much bigger numbers of submissions).

Conclusion

Saying that PANDA update hasn’t changed anything is wide off the mark; on the other hand, saying it has totally eradicated the methods like article marketing will also be an overstatement. If anything, you need to focus more on quality than quantity when writing either articles or guest posts.

Other browsers load the page after the password is input and then only ask if you want to save it. This way, you would at least know that the password input is the right one. However, IE asks you right away if you want to save the password after keying it in. If you had typed the wrong one in, congratulations you have just saved the incorrect password!

Can Internet Explorer retains and subsequently expands its user base with the features that it has, or will those minor grouses eventually turn users away from them? We would just have to wait and see what happens in 2011.
