Do You Have What It Takes In Blogging?

I know the title of this post caught your attention, but the main thing is in the content… Just read on!

The Blogging Journey

Truly, there is no competition in the blogging world but I still wonder why so many people fail in this particular field. I also want you to know that truly, everybody can be a blogger, but only few are successful bloggers and as every other thing in life, you have to study those at the top, follow their steps and you will get there or you can rather decide to come out with your own strategy which can be achieved after several years of trial and error, and if you are going for the second one, I pity you because the blogging world is a dynamic world and new technologies are evolving out every time.

“Then it was just some number of keyword repetitions and a little backlinks but now…. The media is taking over”. Ask yourself; do I have what it takes?

It is all about giving value!

internet-marketingI know you have a blog; in fact, you have many. Do you really think blogging is all about copying other peoples content and pasting it on your blog. Today you copied “MR A’s” content, tomorrow “MR B” is your target…. You just have to be unique, You have to have your own voice – which is what blogging is all about, You have to provide value and in fact, you have to sacrifice your best. I am not telling you to give out all you know but in the blogging world “You have to give out what you so much value, what is as precious as gold” so that you can get noticed.

Do you think content alone can do the work?

There has been a lot of debate over this, but let me tell you- writing quality content is not enough to get the work done, you have to create awareness, you have to get some few loyal readers who will continue from where you stopped(I mean promoting your blog).

I know your piece is so valuable but no word has a life of its own except it is being read. Try to market your value, promote your piece, network with other bloggers – they are everywhere.

Respect your readers

Don’t forget where you came from (the 5 visitors a day or even less), don’t begin to abuse and insult your visitors, try to respect them, let them know they are valuable and important to you. Try to reply to all their comments, try to give them the help they need (which is why you are blogging). Just respect them and you will see a change.

The combination of the above will give you a better result in your blogging career, you just have to do it, You have to give value, You have to market and Promote your value and You have to respect your readers.

I hope I have what it takes. There’s no better way to find out than going out on your own and giving it everything you got. :)

You will need original and valuable content, market the heck out of it and treat your visitors like they are your family. Nice advice, that’s pretty much what it takes to get known online.

Having passion about what you do or blog about will help you tremendously to have a successful blog. You’re readers will be able to sense your passion and energy in your writing and this will help inspire and motivate them.

I think blogging is about learning. We need to keep on learning to survive in blogosphere. Determination plays a key role on blogging. Many new bloggers tend to give up easily before their hardworks pay off. Instead of just providing unique and interesting content, we still need to build up the blogging relationship with other bloggers.
You are too great Onibalusi! You are so young and so special! Keep up your work! :)

I just want to comment about what you said with competition. Yes we are not competing with each other but being on the number 1 spot in SERPs is competition don’t you think?

It really depends on how you handle it, provide value first on your blog and try to get as many relevant authority backlinks as possible then you will dominate with time. Since you are not buying your readers and you are only helping them, I see no competition in this.
Thanks.

Thanks Lee, and just to add up don’t write for search engines trying to use keyword stuffing is a big no no no we must write for the readers, that is easy to understand and of course informative.

Hey Lee,

You dominated the post at the point where you stated respect the readers. I agree with you completely because, readers are the one who makes our blog possible and to deliver them the quality content must be our responsibility, not merely a job.

Content is king, but when you don’t have the readers content won’t run far away. Thanks for this thought provoking post.

Am I reading this right? Do you pity those that would rather be leaders then followers?

Hi, what I am trying to say is that the blogging world is dynamic and you just don’t have to be cracking your brain to generate your own strategies but rather look at successful people and follow their steps.
Thanks.

It takes a camel and a laptop and then the money will drop like if it were coconuts! Seriously though, blogging is serious work if you want to make a living out of it, and I’m not yet sure if it’s worth it to blog for a living in north america where the cost of living is pretty high. And I’ve read your profile Onib, get out there make your mom proud, Show her what that boy is made of!

Yeah! if you are not ready to sacrifice your time then you can hardly have impact online! you just have to sacrifice the time, it will later pay for itself.
Thanks
