It was two months ago, I had lost my Pagerank due to selling text link. I did get paid twice from TLA before, that was about $10 in total. After serving TLA for about 2 months, Google penalized me by slapping my pagerank from PR2 to PR0. I was not happy to see my PR gone because of TLA and I took down TLA after the incident. It’s not easy to gain higher PR and I love PR more than selling text link which I can’t earn much on that time. So, I’m not selling text link anymore! You know, I can make money online with my Pagerank.
Step By Step To Request Reconsideration From Google
Before you send your reconsideration to Google, you have to do few simple steps. Do not simply send reconsideration letter to Google before make sure your blog don’t against their Terms Of Service.
1) Read Webmaster Guidelines to make sure you’re not against their rules as what I stated in my previous article.
2) If you’re selling text link, please remove it. (Optional : If you want to be safe, temporary take down all advertisements.) I only left Adsense and Nuffnang on my blog.
3) Go to Google Webmaster Tools, you will see a word “Talk To Google” and you can see a word “Request Reconsideration” under it. But you have to add your site first before request reconsideration because it requires your site’s information.
4) Never ask Google why they penalize you, they have their reason and you know about what you do on your blog. In the letter, you tell them honestly what you did (Selling Text Link, Paid Post, etc), then tell them that you were regret to do that and you love Pagerank. In the end, ask them to reconsideration your blog again. All the sentences must be in politely way (Don’t brush shoe as well), don’t try to challenge Google, if you get pissed off in search engine, your blog is dead!
5) You’ve done your parts, the thing you can do now is follow up and wait. Resubmit the letter to them after 2-4 weeks if they never reply you.
Conclusion
In my experience, I did wait for about 2 months to get back my pagerank. I lost PR2 and I get PR3 for my main page and PR to certain internal pages, thanks Google! In my opinion, after you send your reconsideration letter to them, you have to wait until the time they update pagerank for all the webmasters and bloggers. Of course you have to update your blog regularly, I’m not asking you to wait them review your blog without doing anything, put effort and be patient. This is what happened to me and I learned from it.

hmmm i did get slapped for selling links and my PR drop from PR2 to PR0. I request for reconsideration but and only receive their message saying something like they are going to reply in a few weeks or maybe months.

taukey : Probably they won’t reply you, it’s happened to me too. They never replied me, I follow up with them with 3 reconsideration letters within 2 months. When the December PR updates, they review my site and give me a PR3.
Anyway, I don’t think you need to wait for their reply. You just follow the steps in my article above, make sure you didn’t against their rules (Selling text link, paid post, etc.). Follow up with them, update your blog regularly, wait for next PR updates and check on your PR again. I wish you luck bro! Do let me know if you face any problem in the coming days.

I love Google and I hate MicroSoft so much that Bing is not something I even care to look at. But there is an inherent problem when one company gets so much control.
The fact that Google tanks PR because they don’t like bloggers selling text links is one example. No, they have no problem with AdWords. Wonder why.

Google hates me. I removed all links to PayPerPost 2 years ago but went from a PR4 to a PR0. I just found that I could submit my site for reconsideration and did about 2 weeks ago. I am waiting, not so patiently, on them to come to a decision. I hate that everyone relies on them so heavily for consideration when you submit your sites for things. Great article!
