How Search Engine Determine Your Keywords

Google Bot

Search engine is not as complicate as you think. It’s just like dog, you can train it to sit, jump, hand and even roll. You have to teach and train it day by day, it’s same as search engine, you want it to know what is your keywords, you have to show it. Search engine doesn’t simply pick a keyword in your blog to determine that’s your keyword, they have their concept.

Search engine determines your blog keyword by using keyword density concept, the most time you repeat your keyword in your content, search engine will notice that the word is your keyword.
See the example :

Make Money Text

There are few words of “make money” in your content, when search engine notices that you are repeating the same word “make money” often in your content. Search engine knows that this content is about “make money“, so it will consider your keyword as “make money“.

Search engines will insert your keyword into their database, when someone search for the relevant keyword, your blog is their result. But there are tonnes of competitors optimize the same keyword, this is how your off page optimization affect your search engine ranking too.

Controlling Your Keyword Density

Search engine determines your keyword through keyword density in your content, let’s say you’re optimizing a keyword “make money blogging“, you have to make it stand out and show search engine that “make money blogging” is your keyword. That’s not mean that repeating the keyword as much as you can, you’ll be getting the better search engine ranking.

This is how we calculate the percentage of the keyword Density :
95 text word + 5 keywords = 100 words in the content

That’s mean you have 5% of keyword density in the content. I would say 7% of the keyword density in the content is ideal. Don’t spam your keyword too often in your article, make your content unique and interesting first.

Why We Can’t Optimize Too Many Keywords?

Search engine is not as smart as you think, it can’t determine your important keyword if you optimize too many keywords in the content. If you’re repeating 3 keywords in your content at the same time, search engine will say no keyword is important at all because there is no keyword stands out.
See the example :

SEO Text

There are 3 keywords repeating the same value in the content, I understand that you’re trying to tell search engine that “Blog“, “SEO” and “Make Money” are your important keywords, but search engine doesn’t know about it. Search engine is confuse to determine which one is your important keyword, end up it decides that there is no keyword optimized in the article. You lose your objective.

How To Make Your Search Engine Optimization Effectiveness?

This is not difficult to make your search engine optimization to be effectiveness.
1) Choose the right keyword
2) Build up unique and quality content

Search engine would like to see that you’re building up quality content just for your readers but not only for search engine. Of course you have to do some keyword optimization work to make search engine easy too. By making search engine easy to work, you have to read the SEO Checklist.

In this article, I’m writing about how search engine determine your keywords. To make money blogging, search engine and readers are your best friends. If you treat them as your family, you’ll be success in make money blogging sphere one day!

I disagree on repeating keywords.

I have a site that comes out page 1 and # one on some terms and these terms I don’t even repeat. It’s just part of my Meta descriptions.

So yeah, Keyword Density thing is so outdated. People have abused it and now SE’s are less keen on density already.

makesomemoneywithme : yeah, you’re right! I think that is just a very minor part that affect search engine ranking. We call it keyword density or keyword stuffing, repeat keyword with meaning is good, spamming keyword without meaning is bad (Google hate it).
Perhaps I’ll write an article about it. Thanks for the comment makesomoneywithme. Really appreciate it. =)

Slipper : Search engine can be acting like a man too, a man say “I love you” to as lady, he can say “I hate you” the next day.
