In fact, I’m not an active member of Twitter. In my experience, I’ve not gained any traffics from Twitter, I’ve not much followers, but I do following lots of people. I don’t rely on Twitter, I just think that my Twitter followers don’t really reply me when I tweet question to ask them something. Therefore, Twitter doesn’t help me in making money online. Between, I saw that lots of bloggers use Twitter to make money online, they’re able to sell their personal products or clickbank products to make money online. With that said, Twitter can helps you to make money online, not to me but I believe that Twitter will be useful to me in future. However, I always find the best ways to increase my Twitter followers, the more followers you have, the more audiences you have, the more money you can make by selling products or send followers to your blog.

I’ve yet to find the way to boost traffic to our blog by using Twitter, but in my opinion, in order to boost your traffic, the first thing is the number of your followers, communicate with them without promoting your blog 1st, else they will think that you just want to promote your blog but not sharing with them. So, building up our twitter followers 1st.

Nice list on who to follow however for me I don’t see the point of having hundreds of twitter followers who non-responsive, in fact don’t even care if you have tweeted or not!
I have followed those 17 names. As a result, in less than 24 hours my followers have increased from from only 1 to 143 (and continuously adding!).
However, from my sitemeter, I found that I only received around 5 traffics from twitter.
Another problem is that my blog link has been replaced by tinyURL link….

I had 178 followers before I started this last night.
And guess what! My twitter followers increased to 225 this morning! That’s a big different in one night! Can’t imagine if I followed everyone that is listed =p
I always thinks that twitter is a good marketing strategy. When you twit something interesting, you’ll definitely generate some “quality” traffics. The visitors will only come to your site if they’re interested with your twitted-topic. Good one!

@Salwa : You’re right Salwa! However, people who has tonnes of followers doesn’t mean that they’re popular because some of the followers don’t really response when we make a tweet.
In my experience, after I’ve followed these 17 peoples and I get lots of followers, so I tried to make a tweet to ask them replied me, they did! So, I’ll be communicate more often with my followers in the coming days to build up my community.

You’ve to build up your community before you promote your blog, try to communicate with your followers, let them know that you’re human and can be communicated. After these, only share some interesting blog post with them.
Between, I’m not sure whether we can change the TinyURL, Twitter set it. Perhaps there is some tools that can be changing the TinyURL to our URL, anyone knows about it?

I am on Twitter, but mainly because I was sort of told to go on it. Like you I don’t have the time to really be active on twitter, but I have found an application that means when I do a blog post, it puts it on twitter as an update which is rather handy.
I do think in future there will be a use for twitter, I am still trying to work out what to do with youtube!
I started using Twitter last week, read another post on adding those people to follow and what do you know…I’m over 700 followers now. However, from my tracking I haven’t seen that much of an increase in site traffic.
