It’s really important to have maintenance for your blog search engine optimization. It’s same to your car, when you drive it for a couple years, your car need a maintenance as well. It’s same with SEO, you have to check it and maintain it as well. Normally I give it a overall checking once a month. But it’s ideally to check your every single post once 2 weeks if you have free time.
By maintaining your search engine optimization, it’s same to maintain your search engine ranking. For those pages have been indexed for a few days ago, perhaps you can check too because sometimes Google will penalized some of the pages due to many factors. So be sure you check every single post.
How To Maintain Search Engine Optimization (Step By Step)
1) Check Whether Your Articles Are Indexed
Search engine spiders are crawling our site everyday, but sometimes we update our blog and create new post too fast, some post might be missed out to be indexed by search engine spiders. So, do a random check on your single post. Simply copy the post URL and paste it in Google.com, it’s okay if it exist, if it’s not, go to Step #2.
2) Editing Old Post (Optional)
Simply edit the old post if it’s not been indexed by search engine spiders yet, you can just restructure the sentences without changing the meaning of the post. By the time you edit your sentences, look for similar content with the post and link it to newer post, it helps to index too. Go to Step #3.
3) Submit Article To Directories
After you’ve edited your post, simply submit to few article submission directories, i.e. Digg, StumbleUpon, etc.
4) Monitoring
Monitor your post, after you’ve done the step #3, leave it for few days or a week. Do check in Google.com see whether your articles have been indexed. Sometimes if we write too many posts in a day, search engine spiders might miss out the posts. So we have to manage it correctly and make sure every posts have be indexed.
It’s really good to have overall checking once a month to ensure that your pages have been indexed correctly. The more indexed pages you have, the more search engine traffic you can get. It’s ideally to create fresh and good content, readers and Google like fresh content, readers might interest to link your article too. The more outbound link an article has, the faster Google index it and give it good ranking too.
