Hello, my name is Trish MacQueen. I am the owner of “The Word Shoppe” which is a freelance and ghostwriting service provider for both online and offline businesses from all sectors of industry and service.
As a copywriter and graphic artist for the past 25 years or so, it was not a big stretch for me to crossover into the fields of freelance writing and ghostwriting. Over those years, I have established a relationship with several exceptional writers, and many clients who I see regularly for new and repeat business projects and proposals. As a guest blogger on Lee’s site this week, I have read his specific requirements of sharing with others about “How to Make Money at Home”.
With this in mind, I thought I would touch on how to make money at home, as a professional blogger. Currently there are a number of professional bloggers reporting yearly incomes around $25,000.00 to $35,000.00, give or take a little.
These bloggers generally focus their writing on particular subjects; write reviews for websites, services, and products, or writer on pay per post blog sites. With over 75,000 blogs generating income and information, it is not hard to believe a professional blogger can cash in and share the wealth.
The majority of blogging jobs offer to pay their bloggers using one of the six methods listed below; although I am sure, there are other variations as well:
Page Views – If you accept work using the Page View method you are paid only when someone lands on your blog page to read the information. This method is risky, at best.
Pay Per Post – Many bloggers work this way. They are paid per post a flat fee, but only if the company deems the blog worthy the pay.
Pay Per Review – These bloggers are paid to review websites and services generally specified by the blog host or corporation employing them.
Monthly Flat Fee – Bloggers writing for this method are paid a flat fee each month to produce X number of posts each month.
SEO Blogs – Today, some company’s are paying bloggers to writer about specified topics using SEO content to redirect readers to various pages.
Guest Blogs – As a guest blogger, writer, I often receive payment and a continual column under the Monthly Flat Fee or a combination of any or all of the above payment methods.
So, if you are looking for a great writing job that you can freelance from home, why not consider blogging! There is money to be had by those willing to spend the time and learn how to go about it.
In closing, I would like to thank Lee for having me as a guest blogger and I hope you all find rewarding careers that enable you to work at home, enjoy a flexible schedule, and earn enough income to keep you happy and smiling
