First, it improves the ranking of your website or blog in search engines. Ultimately, it can also improve the amount of organic traffic to your website.
What Are The Most Important Aspects When It Comes To Building Effective Backlinks?
1. Original and unique contents
Search engines like Google loves original and unique contents. Even so, it must have quality and offers valuable insight to whatever niche topic you are about to write on. This is an essential aspect of driving major traffics to your websites. Aside from only posting articles, your blog comments as well as replies should hold the same quality content as of how your post should be. As starter, it is always my first best advice for you to write good quality content and post them up onto such directories. This is mainly because it gets kick starts your progress to build effective backlinks.
However, significantly, you may no notice any traffic coming around during the initial starting but that is all right. Gradually but surely, you are very much ranking up your website or blog extensively.
It is preferable that you submit only to high page ranking directories. By doing so, your blog or websites tend to get indexed and crawled by search engines spiders much more drastically of which you will surely see a rapid increment in your website’s rank as well.
2. Social Networking Sites
Such social sites like Stumble Upon, Digg or Delicious are inevitably capable of driving powerful backlinks to your sites. If ever any of you post is lucky enough to hit the first page, you can expect to see a drastic rise if your traffic and backlinks.

4. Getting links by falsely claiming about oneself
Most often, we would come across a few individual that relatively talks big about what they are, claiming that they are some kind of big shot in the internet marketing realm just so to get their name hyped up.
Stealing people’s article, stripping away the author’s attribute and claim to be yours thinking that people would acknowledge you to what wonderful article you have personal came out with.

I agree with. There are a lot of people spamming links, but what they don’t know is they are just wasting their time doing it. I’d rather have 100 quality backlinks than 10,000 useless and non-sense links.

Building backlink comes in many ways .. and as you mentioned, there are some that would deliberately do it the ‘dirty’ way.. which is of course that would mean spamming.. but nothing comes with a price,aye.
Subsequently, spamming is not something new anymore and bloggers as well as readers alike will be able to distinguish that for themselves.
so what good are there when you spam so you could obtain backlinks? nothing actually. just a way of staining your ‘name’ and your business. :)

Links also have different values. One of the best values you get from a link with your keyword in the anchor text that is located within related content such as a blog post or other text.

thank you for commenting Andreas, but I don’t quite get what you really mean.. I am sure you are relating about anchor text there as I noticed the word in it.
Yes anchor text is adequately very important. Say overally for your website you would have a primary keyword of “internet business”.When you embed link ( most probably your blog link ) , “internet business” becomes your anchor text.
Therefore you are subsequently improving the SEO of the anchor text “internet business” for your blog.
Therefore, whenever people type in “internet business” into the search engine, you blog site will eventually be on the resulted list. This is much more effective because people search through keywords, not the title of your blog..
Just like how Lee was able to SEO the word ‘make money online’.. its the exact theory =)

Hi Lee, Its good, compare to your posision in the SERP and http://www.seobook.com/google-serp-ctr-data-search-rank can you see how many visiters your page should have. Try to get to posision number 4 and you have double Unique Visitors monthly. Hard – but a goal.

So is there no use of backlinks with no anchor text?
I personally think that it doesn’t seem to have much use to build a backlink without anchor text. It discourages people to click it too.

I think directory submission are dead in the water. Except for a handful, directory submission only create a ton of spam. If doing directory submissions, do not use an email address you need as it will be spammed to death!

preferably, opt in for directories that has a PR of 5 and above.. that way, you can be sure that not only will you increase and improve the rate of your website being indexed faster by search engines, you get to build prominent backlinks for it too.
I myself actually do provide my actual email but because I submit my articles only to the listed attribute directories as mentioned above, I don’t usually get spams :)

thank you for your comments. Apparently, I have been holding back for a bit now because I have lot-sa online managing to juggle along.:P
Speaking of backlinks and relatively about rel=”no follow” or rel=”do follow”
honestly. i started out knowing nothing of such..as long as I see there are ‘activities’ within a blog or forum, it doesn’t matter if its a “no” or a “do”. That makes it easier because apparently, I am not posting for the sake of getting backlinks, i am doing it because I believe in sharing genuinely .
however, I don’t find nofollow backlinks totally useless. Well for the fact that know I do realize with “do follow”, you build backlinks which are beneficial for your SEO. nevertheless, no follow can benefit you in some way or another too.
One thing for sure is that you get less spam of course regardless of the PR of the blogs or site because apparently you can be sure that only interested people will eventually post on a ‘no-follow’ blog..( i am talking about the majority of people who emphasized so much on building backlinks that leaves only the one really concerned ones posting comments on it.
Well no follow links are always better than no links at all. Because eventually when you emphasize your presence online, if your link is relatively related with the mentioned niche and contains valuable information on the same topic someone is reading, people will eventually follow the link- and you will get traffic. If it is a totally unrelated page, even with a dofollow or nofollow, it will be very unlikely anyone would want to ‘follow’. Not to mention if search engines will ever find you ‘link’ favorable too because subsequently your page just doesn’t relate with what there is to say.

Indeed, guest posting is one of the many sure ways of getting backlinks.. but do watch for what sort of blogs you intend to post your guest post on. pick the ones which has a high PR rank and relatively relevant with your topic.
