Investigate Your Niche Competition In BlogRank

Recently I’d came across DailyBlogTips and got to know that Invesp had launched Blogrank. Blogrank is similar to some blog directories, but blogrank evaluates all relevant blogs against common metrics and ranks them by using their unique formula. Besides these, blogrank currently has 6 categories and about 50 sub-categories in their database. If you’re looking for top blogs in your niche, or comparing your blog with them, simply add your blog and blogrank will collect your data and ranks you accordingly.

My blog is writing about make money online, so I add my blog under Computing & Internet in cagatories and under blogging in sub-cagatories. In fact, 45n5 Rank had the similar directory for Top 100 Make Money Online blogs, but 45n5 just evaluates Google Pagerank, Technorati Rank, and Alexa Rank only. 45n5 just took these 3 metrics and ranked the blogs, currently 45n5 has 364 blogs in their database while I’m ranked in 155th. Between, if comparing to BlogRank, I would prefer to use BlogRank because it evaluates more metrics in order to rank a blog, the result will be more accurate.

My Thought : This is why I like Blogrank because blogrank consider more metrics to rank your blog, there is a total site score to see how many score your blog has.

My Thought : The first day I added my blog, it was 3 days ago, my rank was 59th, it was 58th yesterday, and 61th today. I guess that they update the ranking in daily basis, or there are new blogs added into the database and take over my place. But the site score is updating daily, so I think blogrank updates all the blogs ranking in daily basis.

My Thought : Besides of comparing the overall metrics of RSS, Compete Rank, Alexa Rank, Yahoo! Backlinks and Google Pagerank, you can check the rank for these individual factors as well. With that said, you can get to know well with your niche competitors.

My Thought : I don’t talk about BlogRank with its’ other categories, so I compare 45n5 in Make Money Online and BlogRank in Blogging category. In this case, if your blog is new, most probably your blog will be out of 100th and won’t be get ranked in BlogRank, of course you’ll be fit into the 100th list if your blog has good rank in future; while 45n5 will still add you into the list even though you’re not within 100th.

If you want to rank well and take over your competitors, you have to know how their ranks first. The old folks said :”Get to know your competition well, then you can defeat them all the times!“. There are dozens of make money online blogs in the blogosphere, so I have to know my competition well and work hard on my blog.
