Dropshipping is one of the most popular and easiest ways to make money online. Well, at least that is what drop ship companies want you to believe. If you are really going to be successful with dropshipping and you are going to make a substantial amount of money, it does take some work. Not only that, but you are going to have to do things the right way.
What is Dropshipping?
Dropshipping is a very simple concept that enables normal people just as yourself to sell wholesale products online. You can sell these products on eBay, Amazon and even on your own website. If you wanted to, you could even monetize your blog with dropshipping products. The best part about it, is that you never actually have to package or ship the items out. That is part of what the drop ship companies offer to their customers.
The other important incentive of using dropshipping is that you do not have to purchase anything up front. All of the products that you sell on your website or on eBay can be sold first and then purchased once you have received the payment from your buyer. For example, if you are selling an Xbox 360 game on eBay then you would first list that game on eBay. Once it sells for say $50, then you would get the payment via PayPal from the buyer along with shipping information. You would then turn around and go to the drop ship company and put the order in there and have it shipped to the buyer. So if the wholesale price was $35 then you would use the $50 in PayPal to purchase the product and you would be left with a $15 profit.
How to Make Big Money
Dropshipping may seem simple, but it really isn’t. If you are going to be successful with dropshipping, then you have to do it the right way. It is not as easy as just simply throwing together a website and putting a ton of random products on it. You do not want to try to be the Walmart of the Internet. The fact is, that you will never get low enough wholesale prices to do this. Instead, you will need to pick a very specific niche and dominate that market.
Once you understand the concept, it really is a pretty simple way to make money online. Find a niche that is not very competitive and build a website around it. The key however, is to not only offer products for sale but also offer a ton of content. That is the only way you will be able to establish a good amount of traffic to your website in the first place. If you can do that, then you will be well on your way to making money with Drop Shipping.
