Almost every affiliate programs have a referral program i.e. allowing somebody to sign under an affiliate link. This is because if the referral is active, the affiliate program would earn more money. The referral program is just a way for the people running the affiliate program to say thank you to you.
If you search on this blog, make money by blogging for the keyword “cashcrate“, you would notice that there are 2 post about making money with cash crate. For those who don’t know what cash crate is. It is a site that pays you to take surveys and try some trials. Depending on how active you are and you referrals, you can earn more than $200 a month. I have seen posts or checks showing a blogger earned more than $1000 in a month.
The way to do that is to get referrals. Think about this, most of the surveys in there would pay you $0.50 to complete them. And completing a survey can take you up to 20 minutes or more. How many surveys do you want to complete to get $1000. If I am right, you have to take about 2000 surveys. There are not up to 2000 surveys at cash crate. The paid trials pay more, but doing every offer on cash crate would not net you that amount in a month. Even if doing all the surveys can give you $2000 in a month, that means you spent a lot of time completing them. You probably had to forgo most of your daily activities to join the crowd that makes money on the internet.
To make this kind of amount, you need referrals. They are your foot soldiers that would make money for you. When your referrals do the surveys, you are being paid some money. You don’t even have to complete any offer to make money in that month. The time you would use to complete the surveys, you would use it to get more referrals that would continue making you money as long as they are active and as long as cash crate exists.
After you have gotten referrals, you can now join the make money online crew and say you don’t do anything, but you receive a check every month that pays your bills.

Pretty good to hear, but in reality, referrals don’t really work for all. I’ve been doing referrals for like forever, but didn’t earn a bit. huhuhu…Referrals, I say, should come together with luck. But that’s my opinion. Maybe for some, this really works.
Melanie, I don’t know if you have read tyler cruz blog. Look at his past monthly income and see how much his affiliate referrals make for him.

I’ve to agree with melanie, not all people can be doing well with Referral programs. You have to build your trust, when you promote something, people will be more likely to join under you because they trust you. :)

I don’t mean to offend anyone. I just think that referral programs are not for everybody. But I’m not discouraging it, either. What do you know, other people might be very successful, like Tyler. People should try their luck, not not to totally depend on it.
True, referral program is not for everyone. What I am trying to get across is that is you are taking about an affiliate program and they have a referral program, don’t just link to the affiliate program. Put your referral link instead. Somebody may be curious about the program, and sign up under you.
An affiliate marketer should not spend his/her time looking for referrals instead their time should be spent building profitable campaigns.
cashcrate not really works well for people from our country. So, it not worth to me.
I’m not sure but cashcrate is only available for American citizens. I got a message from cashcrate on my twitter, and when I tried to sign in, I found out that when you have to enter your address, you can only choose American state.
One really smart way is through cross linking on web 2.0 properties.
Write about making money on helium on hubpages, vice versa and you can build a network that interlinks one another.
