I really like Max Banner Ads and that is saying a lot when I'm not the greatest fan of plugins that require a link back to the owners site. I know that when you upgrade that this removes the link (and this is a great monetization method for the plugin owner) so credit to him where credit is due. I'd recommend that if you can upgrade then you should certainly go for that option.
