Personal Experience With T3Leads Affiliate Program

by Lee Ka Hoong on December 31, 2009

I am going to explain briefly what T3Leads is to people who have never heard of it. T3Leads is a pay per lead affiliate program that deals with the finance niche, such as payday loans, mortgages, etc. Simply put, this pay per lead program will pay you a commission each time someone fills out a form, but T3Leads might reject the lead as a “bad lead“. A good lead will pay you as high as $65 on a payday loan. Many people are giving this program a very good review, but it is just like people who are promoting Clickbank products because they put referral links in the reviews to make commission. I am going to give you an honest review based on my own personal experience with no referral links.

I’ve mentioned about “bad lead” so what exactly is a “bad lead”? T3Leads will never tell you 100% detail about what exactly is a “bad lead”. They will generally tell you that the lead was a duplicate or it came from bad traffic. Since you are not the only affiliate trying to make money with T3Leads, you are competing with a bunch of others to find a good non-duplicate lead.

How To Find Good Non-Duplicate Lead?

How do you find good non-duplicate lead? You will need a high-traffic website or PPC. Here is the problem, if you do not already have a well-established loan, mortgage, etc. website, you will have a very hard time competing to bring traffic to the T3Leads websites. If you are planning to build a brand new site, then don’t expect your site to rank even on the second page of Google for competitive words such as “payday loan” after a year or two.

search-engine-optimization

How about PPC? Remember what I said about non-duplicate lead? You will need #1 or #2 position in PPC to minimize the chance of duplicate application forms. Desperate people who fill out loan forms will jump from one site to another. If the person filled out the form for the PPC ad at #1, and if your ad is on #2 position, then your lead is a duplicate “bad lead”. Sometimes, even if a person filled out a non-duplicate form, they will also reject it without telling you much details.

Remember in the beginning that I said a good lead will pay you AS HIGH as $65? That means you might get $2 on one lead, $30 on another, etc. They will not tell you the exact amount you will get. If you are trying to fight for high positions in PPC, then expect yourself to spend a lot of money. You might spend $50 to make $65, or $50 to make $2. Also, you have to assume that not everyone who looks for loans will fill out the form, and not every form will be accepted.

Based on my own personal experience, I would have to say that if you do not have a high ranking finance niche site, don’t even think about trying to make money with T3Leads affiliate program even if they tell you that you can make up to $100 per accepted lead.

Good blog post Lee, I’ve never experimented with T3Leads, but I learned quite a bit about leads and how to get a lead from this post. I think I will give them a try and see what happens.

The beauty of making money from leads is that you just need to get the person to take action usually a name and email and the company takes it from there. Yet you still will get credited for the lead even if they don’t make a purchase.

Mathew,

The problem with T3Leads is that the lead must be “quality” lead. They reject a lot of leads and will simply tell you, “oh, it’s because the lead was poor quality”.

Some pay per lead programs, however, do pay regardless of the quality of the lead.

Good blog post Lee.

“The problem with T3Leads is that the lead must be “quality” lead. They reject a lot of leads and will simply tell you, “oh, it’s because the lead was poor quality””

Hmm, that doesn’t sound the best. If they are going to be doing that who is to say it was a quality lead or not?

Dennis,

Good question! There are people in forums that complain about affiliate programs stealing their earnings. Very shady business practices!

Unfortunately it happens a lot, and not always by the smaller no-name programs either.

I have always been a little wary of trusting companies properly paying me affiliate commissions. Unfortunately it is up to the company to be honest and pay you what you deserve. I’m sure a lot of companies scrub some of those affiliate commissions to save a buck. It’s not like we would ever find out for sure.

HI Kai, I have been using T3leads and the conversion is very bad. Even, I have spent lot of money for certain position but i never got as much as leads. Also, there tracking system is totally crap. I am using third party tracking to count my clicks and compared to it, T3Leads shows low clicks. I am scared with this network.

Good honest advice Lee. While they may pay a lot for a lead, this niche is much too competitive for most people. You have to be very good at marketing to get much relevant traffic. PPC is not really a viable option in this case. As an affiliate, usually you can’t compete with the PPC budgets of the companies actually running the affiliate programs. Sure you might get $50-65 for a lead, but the lending company could be making much more money from the lead. So they can afford to spend a lot more per click.

The T3Leads.com affiliate program functions, from a technological point of view, like most payday affiliate program but has advantages compared to others both in the convenience of setup and in the amount a webmaster participating in the program stands to gain.
