Using a free host shouldn’t be forever. Maybe when someone starts up and they have no money, but then they have better alternatives like WordPress and BlogSpot. I’d have to recommend WordPress to anyone who’d like to have their blog rank easier. Making money online isn’t that hard, people just need to have some basic knowledge and they’ll be on their way to making hundreds of dollars a month (hopefully).

I agree that a free web host is usually not a good long term option. While it may be suitable for beginners, it can really hold back intermediate bloggers. A free web host almost always has some drawback, whether it is automatic ads or slow server speeds. The search engines may limit your rankings if your server is too slow. You also have to realize that your site would be hosted on the same server as some pretty shady sites. Some spammers love to use free hosting for their throw away domains. Personally I’d rather not have a long term money making site connected to those shady sites in any way.
