The Changing Face of Internet Marketing

It’s hard to believe that the vast virtual world we call the Internet is just a few decades old, fledgling by any means we look at it. It’s also hard to believe the rapid advances that have been made in an exceedingly short period of time. I don’t think the creators of the World Wide Web would have envisioned the uses that it is being put to today, that thousands of people are able to make money sitting at home by just applying their brains a little bit.

Internet Marketing
If you earn a significant amount of or all your income online, get ready for some really envious looks and eager enquiries. People are bound to want to get on the moneymaking bandwagon too, and this is where the danger lies. Yes, I’m talking about the future of Internet marketing, a subject that’s interesting and intriguing to anyone who’s even just heard about it. With more and more people lining up for a share in the pie (some of them may not get any but they want to at least try) because of the low investment amount, the almost nil capital cost (except for your computer and Internet connection), and the sensational nature of the business, it’s inevitable that more and more of them are susceptible to failure.

Look at it this way – most online marketing strategies and techniques are similar, and with everyone else competing directly with you, for the same traffic, for the same readership, and for the same customers, only a select few are able to taste the kind of success that makes quitting your day job to do this full time a worthwhile process.

The most recent trend sees marketing moving away from traditional channels like email and search engine optimization and towards social networks. Hardly anyone seems to be using email to communicate today; somehow, what was the fastest way to get in touch just a few years ago is now almost obsolete as a personal communication tool. People prefer to leave scraps on Orkut or wall messages on Facebook; in fact, it’s a sort of voyeuristic world we inhabit now within the walls of a social networking site where we’re interested in what a friend of a friend has to say.

And this means that the future of Internet marketing lies in tapping social networks to the maximum and exploiting them within legal boundaries in order to get people to buy what you’re selling. Success is a viable option only for those who are innovative enough to focus on niches that have not been hitherto explored and that are sure to generate interest, and as a result, revenue. If you’re savvy enough to adopt this strategy, then you can safely say that your future lies in Internet marketing.

I think the best thing to have is:

1. an irresistible product…
2. reaching out the buyer.

if the product MUSt be bought and a BUYER is produced, then the problem is solved.
