Guest Posting is probably the most important thing you could do for your blog. I know you want to use that post on your own blog, but instead, donate it to other blogs, and in return you get a link back to your website in the post! This is a great way to reach out to subscribers from other blogs.
It’s not even like you’re tricking the blog owner into using your blog post, they know that you’re donating it to promote yourself, and that’s okay. That is the whole point, so don’t be afraid of it (just kidding).
There is never a time when guest posting is a bad idea, never. Here is a list of some of the perks:
- You will get at least 1 link to your blog. There should never be a time that you submit a guest post and don’t get a referral link. It is important to do link building, and this is just another way of doing that.
- You get a traffic boost. If you post on blogs with a decent amount of visitors, then you are almost certainly guaranteed to get a boost in traffic! It’s virtually impossible not to. If someone likes your blog post, they will want to know more about you, so therefore they will click on the Author, and find a link to your blog! It won’t last forever, but if you keep up the posting then you will always be getting traffic!
- Gain Exposure. The more you post, the more likely you are to reach people that have never heard of you before. When more and more people discover you, it starts to show in your traffic. People begin sharing your link, and talking about you, and they probably even subscribe to you.
Of course, this all depends on the success of your blog post. If you want your Guest Post to be successful, here is some advice:
- Post on popular blogs. The more exposure their blog has, the more exposure you’ll get as well.
- Make sure you submit posts that are good quality. If you want to attract people, they have to be interested in your post, or they will probably not be interested in you.
- How is the blog related to your niche? In some way, the blog your posting on should be related to your blog. It doesn’t have to be your exact niche, but the readers of their blog should be interested in what you have to offer.
- How’s your blog? The quality of you own blog should be decent as well so that people will want to subscribe to you after visiting your website.
It is important to keep in mind that guest posting is mutually beneficial to you and the blog owner. They are getting more content, and you are getting traffic. You will probably not get better exposure in any other way than guest posting. You should at least give it a try, and who knows, you could get popular enough to go viral!

Guest posting is the best thing that happened to blogging, since WordPress. You gain one-way honest link and the accepting blog gains free content. Although I have to disagree a little on the topic of “traffic boost”. I’m yet to see a real boost from any of my guest posts. Although that just might be the problem with the blogs I choose to host my guest posts.

Guest posting is a great way to promote our blog. However, we have to make sure our article is good, useful and impressive so that people can remember us and even bookmarked us. Therefore, the quality of the content of guest post is important. Thanks for sharing Amanda!

Personally speaking I have found that you can get excellent increases in traffic from guest blogging but if you’re not careful this traffic can be very short lived. I like the idea of building up an arsenal of top-quality articles and submitting dozens of guest blog posts at the same time as ramming your own blog with regular, unique content.
In this way not only will you suck in traffic from all over but they will find a *lot* of value and updates when they visit, which increases the chances of them subscribing and becoming a regular reader of yours.

The most important thing you can get from guest posting, it is the fastest way to boost up your traffic. Better than blog commenting or forum posting. It works for me.
