So you have already created a blog to make money online. You have all the necessary tips to feed your hungry readers out there. You then include a couple of advertisement on your blog and hope to make some additional money from them. All you need to do now is sit back, relax and watch the cash roll in. Wrong!!

A money making blog is like a business. In order for your blog to bloom, you need to promote your blog. Why you might ask? Because the key success to any blog is web traffic. Why are some blogs making more money than others? The answer again, is traffic.

One of the best ways of promoting your blog is through link exchange. There are basically 2 kinds of links, one way links and reciprocal links.

Major search engines like Google loves one way links. One way linking is basically any websites that links to a particular post or page in your blog. One way to achieve this is provide your readers with high quality contents. If your readers find a particular post informative, they will tend to link to your blog. In addition to that, you can also write articles related to a particular niche and submit them to any free article directories. If your article gets publish, your blog will be exposed to millions of readers.

Reciprocal links are the result of 2 websites exchanging links. For example website A will include a link from website B and vice versa. Although reciprocal links are not as valuable as one way links, we should do whatever we can to promote our blog.

Blog Traffic

Many blog creators have neglected some old school methods of marketing their blog. They prefer to use online advertisements that can cost a bomb depending on the keywords selected. One unconventional way of promoting your blog is by using flyers. If you have limited amount of money, you can always create a simple black and white flyer. All you have to do next is just make hundreds of copies of the original flyer. These flyers can then be distributed in malls, universities, colleges or even left on car windshields at parking lots.

Try to be as creative as possible when promoting your blog. Sooner or later you will notice the increase in web traffic.

Very nice article. But generating traffic is just one part of building a business on your blog. The other part is keeping them on your blog for as long as possible and finally persuading them to subscribe to your blog or do whatever you want them to do.

I am sure you’ll agree that.

Link exchange is definitely key in generating traffic. But as mentioned, a premium is placed on one-way links. Still have yet to get any. LOL.
