In this post, i’m going to write about Wimax again, why i always write about Wimax this few days ? Because this is hot topics in forum and newspaper. Again, what is Wimax? And how Wimax improve our life style ? Click to read more about this 2 topics.
I have read a lot of articles and news about Wimax advantages and also disadvantages, i’m not going to touch about this 2 topics today. Our topic today is “Expectation monthly fee that charged from Wimax”. I think still no one know about the monthly fee for Wimax right ?
For Streamyx, there is a lot of package available now. The package from 384kbps (Rm60) untill 4mbps (Rm160). All without modem but unlimited usage per month.
While Wimax 70Mbps, what do you think about the monthly fee for Wimax with 70Mbps ?? Let me guess, I think the monthly fee for Wimax will be Rm200 – Rm250 / month without the devices. So what is the price for the devices ? I guess Rm150-Rm200 … Sure a lot of people ask :” Accurate or not ??” hey, just estimation lar …
Overall : my expectation is Rm200-Rm250/month & Rm150-Rm200 for the devices.
I would consider to try it if the price range is within my expectation price or cheaper. =p
Some of my friends ask me, are you willing to pay more than streamyx for Wimax ? My answer is YES, if their connection is faster and without any doubt(the doubt that Streamyx have-thunder or rain may cut the connection). You know, as a blogger or webmaster, we need fastest network to write as much as we can, is better if we can blog everywhere (not at home). I’m willing to pay more than Streamyx for Wimax if Wimax’s service satisfy me. Another reason, of course i’m willing to pay more than Streamyx lar, Streamyx 4Mbps (Rm160) , Wimax 70Mbps (Rm200-Rm250 expectation), of course i take Wimax lar ! you too right ? =)
Example : Sometimes we are surfing net, suddenly connection down, it’s very “beh siok” (angry) one. Sometimes we have a lot of words to write in our brain, suddenly connection down, our words gone ! I hate it ! I pay so much for the service, of course i want a better service. For wimax, i think it’s better than Streamx (But need to try out to support my words).
My another thought is, in Maths.
4Mbps = Rm160
70Mbps = Rmxxx ?
70Mbps x Rm160 ÷ 4Mbps = Rm2800 !!
LOL, it shocked me ! Haha, i don’t think it will be Rm2800 for 70Mbps lar … If ya, who are going to buy it huh ? Maybe Cyber Cafe or Big company will do.

In conclusion, I’m willing to pay more to get better services and connection(If the price same or lower than Streamyx then it’s best ! I’m dreaming … =.=”). How about you ? What is your expectation price for Wimax ? Are you willing to pay more for better service and faster connection speed ?

I will surely subscribe with wimax if the price is at the RM160 par….
Currently subscribe to streamyx and found that the service are not so good especially the technical side….
What happen is, my line got a problem, so i make an appointment with the technical operator, then the technician call me saying that he will come the next day but didn’t show up on the day, so i call back the technical operator and what did they say is “you did not make an appointment with us” – What the F……
So now i’m waiting the 2 years contract to finish(they did not told me that i have to subscribe the service for at least 2 year when subscribing it at the first time-they should told-its our right) and will maybe subscribe to Celcom Broadband….

Actually their customer service is not very good as i heard a lot about their news, myself also face this problem, i have call them up for installation, i call them and chase everyday, but it took 2-3weeks to settle ! =.=” Everytime i call they said “i will check, if ok then i will contact you”, damn la i can swear i will give u my head if you would call me !!
2years ?? They never told you ? Bleks … mine 1 only 1 year … it’s too bad to keep stick with them for 2years and keep got problems …
So shawal, let’s wait Wimax launched then look out the price, if ok, then change it !! (But wait your streamyx contract expiry 1st)
Celcom Broadband better ? How about the package ? So far I haven’t heard any bad or good news about Celcom Broadband haha ..
I’m currently using GPRS modem to connect. With the speed of 5KB/s, it’s really a nightmare. But since I’m so used to dialup before, I can actually be patient with the speed. But at the time, I only use internet for emailing and some surfing.
Being a blogger… I just need that extra speed. so many things to do, so little time
Hopefully the pricing is affordable.

I didn’t know much about Celcom, but my friends say that their downloading time is very fast but not uploading….. One more thing i heard about Celcom broadband is if you use the mouse type modem, its not so efficient but if you use the slot type it should be better….
Still have a lot to ask when subscribing…
But my friends also tell me that if you want your streamyx line better, when you want to subscribe to it, ask the person that if your house location are closer with their server, if close than its should be ok…… IS IT??
banji : I definately agree with you, as a blogger, we really need a faster connection, download and upload speed. Sometimes i really dont have patient with the turtle speed..

So i really hope Wimax’s price is ok and afford to pay for it..enjoy the Wimax fastest connection speed !!
shawal : When you are signning contract, read through the contract, if you don understand, ask them 99 (enough enough), when you satisfy then only sign the contract with them.
For streamyx line, i think so, the nearer your location with the server, the faster your connection. But pls check whether your location has port or not, if not Streamyx is not available in your location ^^
